[RKD] Iron Suit

An Iron-Man-style suit: right-click thrusters with adjustable power, a hover mode for building, gliding like an elytra – and a set bonus for all four pieces.

Overview

The heart of it is the chestplate “Iron Suit” – it carries the thrusters and also works on its own. Hold right-click and the thrusters push you where you are looking; the mouse wheel sets the power in 10 % steps (configurable), and the suit remembers it. Without thrust the chestplate glides like an elytra – you don't need (and can't wear) a real elytra for that, both go in the chest slot.

For building there is hover mode (default: mouse button 5): the server grants you slow flight, you stand still in the air and build at your leisure. Add the helmet, leggings and boots and you get the set bonus: night vision, 50 % less fall damage and thrusters at 150 % strength and speed – each part can be turned off separately by the server.

By default the suit costs nothing; the server can make thrust, hover and gliding wear down durability like an elytra.

Thrusters

Hold right-click: thrust. In the air only when the crosshair points at nothing (pillaring with jump + place still works); on the ground only with an empty hand and no target – doors, chests and food work as usual. While gliding, thrust acts as a continuous boost.

Power via mouse wheel

While thrusting or gliding the mouse wheel changes the power in 10 % steps (10–100 %); while hovering use Sneak + mouse wheel. The power is saved, even across restarts.

Hover mode

Mouse button 5 (rebindable) turns hover on: slow flight for precise building. Double-jumping or landing ends it. Creative flight or flight from other mods is left alone.

Glide like an elytra

The chestplate glides by itself like an elytra – no extra elytra needed.

Landing assist

After thrusting or hovering the suit absorbs the fall damage of the next landing (server option, on by default).

Set bonus

All four pieces: night vision (without flickering), 50 % less fall damage, thrusters at 150 % strength and speed. Each player can turn the night vision off for themselves.

Armour trims (new in 1.2.1)

All four pieces can be decorated at the smithing table with every vanilla pattern and material – visible on the worn suit and on the inventory icons. With [RKD] Manipulator even in a free colour.

Change size (new in 1.2)

The leggings change the wearer's size from ×1/32 to ×32: mouse wheel over the leggings in the inventory, middle-click resets to ×1. The change is smooth; taking the leggings off returns you to normal size. Needs the mod Pehkui; limits and who may use it are set by the server.

Display

A small panel to the right of the hotbar shows “PWR 60%” with a 10-segment bar, and “HOVER” while hover mode is on (on the left with the left-handed setting).

The hover key can be changed under Options → Controls → Iron Suit. Hover mode uses Minecraft's normal flight – that's why its keys apply.

Settings

Every option can be changed in game: Mods → Iron Suit → Config (via Kobase Core). Server options apply to all players; client options are set by each player – options marked lockable can be fixed by the server for everyone.
