[RKD] Quantum
Ships, vehicles, airships and walking mechs made of real blocks – walk on them, steer them, with working chests and furnaces on board. No Valkyrien Skies needed, compatible with shaders and Immersive Portals.
Overview
Beta – test server – Test build for the beta test server. Features and values may still change before the final release; please report bugs.
With the [RKD] Quantum Shipyard you mark two corners and turn the area into a vehicle (“craft”) with sneak + right-click – as a copy or moved. The real blocks go to a separate, empty Quantum dimension where they stand still and work normally: chests, furnaces, doors and redstone. In your world a projection appears in the same place; it moves, turns and tilts.
On the projection you can stand, walk, jump, step up stairs and take off with an elytra; whoever stands on deck rides along. Clicking a block acts on the real block: open a chest, place and break blocks. The [RKD] Helm is built in – whoever clicks it steers.
Vehicles made of real blocks
Any area up to 64 blocks per side (8192 blocks, configurable) becomes a craft. Several projections of the same craft are possible (“entangled copies” sharing the same chest).
Three motion modes
Switch at the helm: water (keeps its height), ground (follows the terrain, takes 1-block steps, tilts with the slope) and air (free flight).
Riding & collision
You stand on the turned and tilted block shapes, jump on a moving deck and land on the same spot again. A moving hull pushes players and mobs ahead of it.
Everything on board works
Chests, furnaces, doors and redstone are real blocks. Sounds, particles and the crack overlay while mining appear at the projection; furnaces keep smelting during the ride.
Walkers (prototype)
Mechs with two to eight legs: a body plus leg segments, gaits from biped to the eight-legged wave, feet find hold in the terrain. Presets strider, hound, mule, crawler and octo; your own walkers from crafts you built.
Weapon mounts
Combat walkers carry [RKD] Weapon Mounts – the interface for [RKD] Arsenal.
Compatible
No hooks into the chunk renderer: Embeddium, Oculus shaders (own buffered render path) and Immersive Portals stay untouched. Only changed parts are sent over the network.

Controls
| Input | Effect |
|---|---|
| Shipyard: right-click two blocks | select the area |
| Shipyard: Sneak + right-click | the area becomes a vehicle |
| Shipyard: right-click into the air | mode copy / move |
| Right-click the helm (on deck) | take the helm |
| At the helm: W / S · A / D | throttle · turn |
| At the helm: Space · Z (Craft: descend) | climb · descend (air mode) |
| Sneak + use on the helm | switch motion mode: water · ground · air |
| At the helm: Sneak | let go of the helm |
| Click a block of the projection | acts on the real block (open, place, break) |
Operator commands: /quantum list, tp-to-craft <id> (keep building right in the plot, projections update live), return, despawn, summon, plus /quantum walker spawn strider|hound|mule|crawler|octo and /quantum walker assemble. A vehicle that hits land stops with “Ran aground!”.

Test build: not yet checked in the big pack with Oculus and Immersive Portals in multiplayer. Known limits: animals and villagers don't ride along yet, walker legs don't collide with the world, vehicles don't travel through portals.
Versions
